Typhoon Wutip Claims Seven Lives in Vietnam
According to the Department of Dike Management and Natural Disaster Prevention, the storm claimed four lives in Quang Binh province and three in neighboring Quang Tri province. One other person was also reported injured in Quang Tri.
The torrential downpours inundated over 33,000 hectares of rice paddies and devastated thousands of hectares of aquaculture zones. The storm's force also led to the sinking or severe damage of eight vessels.
Local governments have responded swiftly, deploying emergency teams to assist with recovery operations. Officials have been visiting grieving families and helping communities begin the process of rebuilding and returning to normal life, the report added.
