Turkey Describes Attack on Iranian Media as 'barbaric'

(MENAFN) On Monday, Turkey’s Communications Director Fahrettin Altun strongly criticized Israel’s assault on Iran’s state broadcaster, describing it as “barbaric.”

Altun took to X to condemn what he referred to as "Israel's attack on the official news agency IRNA," which he claimed was a deliberate strike targeting both "journalists and civilians."

He emphasized that "attacking journalists and media personnel is barbaric," denouncing the incident as an outright massacre.

He further labeled "this despicable attack" as a severe violation and offered his sympathies to the Iranian media workers who lost their lives.

Altun argued that, due to its continued violations, the Israeli government had forfeited its legitimacy as a sovereign state.

Concluding his statement, Altun urged the "international community to take action against Israel's aggression and reckless behavior," which he warned was inflaming tensions across the entire region.
