US Embassy in Israel shuts down in Israel
"The U.S. Embassy is not in a position at this time to evacuate or directly assist Americans in departing Israel," the mission stated, warning that options for departure are currently unavailable.
The embassy also noted that Ben Gurion Airport remains shut down, with no commercial or charter flights operating. Additionally, Israeli seaports have been closed, cutting off alternative means of exit from the country.
The heightened alert follows a series of coordinated Israeli air and drone strikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites last Friday, which triggered a wave of Iranian missile responses targeting Israeli infrastructure and cities.
