Ruptly & RT headquarters in Tehran gets evacuated due to IDF attacks
According to Ruptly’s Tehran bureau chief, staff evacuated after Iranian authorities warned of an imminent Israeli attack on their location. All employees safely left the area, confirmed bureau head Hami Hamedi. RT’s Iranian team also moved to a safer place due to the escalating strikes, according to producer Ali Razmkhah.
On Friday, Israeli air raids hit several sites across Iran, including a uranium enrichment facility in Natanz, and targeted key military commanders and scientists. Iran responded with dozens of ballistic missile launches into Israel, sparking ongoing exchanges of hostilities.
The Jerusalem Post reported that the IDF struck the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN) during a live broadcast, with footage showing an Iranian news anchor abruptly ending her program after the attack. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz described IRINN as an “Iranian propaganda mouthpiece” destined to disappear.
An Iranian government spokeswoman, Fatemeh Mohajerani, reported at least 45 women and children killed and 75 wounded in the Israeli strikes. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei accused Israel of targeting hospitals and residential areas, condemning it as a serious violation of international law and a war crime.
