Israeli Strike Targets Iranian State TV Building
(MENAFN) On Monday, the Israeli military launched a strike on the building housing Iran’s official television station during a live broadcast, Iranian news outlets reported. According to an Iranian news agency, the attack interrupted Iran’s national TV transmission while it was airing live.
The assault forced the broadcast to go off-air temporarily, but Iranian state television soon resumed, switching to alternative studios following the Israeli air raids, reports indicate. Several media platforms shared footage showing the damage inflicted by the strikes.
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared that Iran’s state TV and radio were "about to disappear." The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported multiple staff injuries from the attack.
This latest incident comes amid soaring regional tensions after coordinated Israeli airstrikes targeted various sites across Iran on Friday — including military and nuclear installations. Tehran responded with missile strikes in retaliation.
Since the onset of hostilities, Israeli officials say Iranian missile attacks have killed at least 24 people and wounded hundreds, escalating the conflict further.
